Fine Artist
Geranes impressionist works embody a life-giving quality attributable
to her fresh and vibrant sense of color. She combines images with
a representational edge reflecting the beauty of the nature God
created.
Gerane began the study of French impressionist works in 1975. Under
the tutelage of several highly regarded art instructors, she developed
and cultivated an innovative style that is well received, both artistically
and commercially.
Classes and personal instructors include: Margo Lennartz, Martha
Saudek, Pasadena City College, McGroarty Art Center, Brand Art Studio,
Shirlee Prescott, Hal Hemlick, Betty Woodhull, Dottie Knight, Penny
Durand, and continuing education workshops.
Gerane's works may be found throughout the United States, with most
collectors concentrated in California and Oregon. Her works are
shown regularly in juried and non-juried competitions, receiving
numerous awards. Among recent juried competitions was the Oil Painters
of America 2003 juried exhibition held at the Waterhouse Gallery
in Santa Barbara, California.
In February 2000, Gerane began an annual series of four-week engagements
as featured artist at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge.
There, collectors acquire her works at a record-setting pace.
Both prints and original works are displayed and available at the
Descanso Gardens Gift Shop. One original work Calla Lilies
is on permanent display at the La Canada Flintridge Library.
The Montrose Chamber of Commerce published her work, Small Town
USA, in the May-June 2002 issue of The Boulevard Magazine and on
the cover if its 2002 member directory. Gerane is the only artist
whose works are held for sale by Mountain Rose Gallery, an upscale
art, gifts and antiques retailer in Montrose, California.
Geranes professional affiliations include San Gabriel Fine
Arts Association, Verdugo Art Association, Glendale Art Association,
the California Art Club and Oil Painters of America (Associate Member).
